EXPECTED BEHAVIORS

Arrival and Breakfast -

1. Students who arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. will report directly to the cafetorium. Students will have assigned tables by grade level.  

2. When seated in the cafetorium, students are to:

        • Remain seated;

  Keep hands and feet to themselves;

  Speak at an appropriate level to those around them;

  Become silent when the duty teacher signals;

  Follow directions for dismissal at the direction of the duty teacher; and

  Students will line up at the multipurpose room door. Teacher will dismiss students to walk in line to the classroom.

 3. Teachers will greet students in their doorways at 8:50 a.m.

Cafeteria -

When seated in the cafetorium, students are to:

        • Remain seated;

•  Keep hands and feet to themselves;

•  Speak at an appropriate level to those around them;

•  Become silent when the duty teacher signals; and

•  Follow directions for dismissal at the direction of the duty teacher.

 Bus Room -

 • Sit at tables or in line by bus driver and number. Students will line up in grade level order beginning with PS.      

        • Remain seated until directed otherwise.        

•  Speak to those around them at an appropriate level;

•  Become silent when the duty teacher signals;

•  Follow directions for dismissal at the direction of the duty teacher; and

•  Students will line up at the multipurpose room door. The teacher will take each line out walking quietly to the bus.

Assemblies -During assemblies, students should:

1.Walk to the assembly area quietly;

2.Wait to be directed to their seats;

3.Applaud when appropriate and refrain from other forms of appreciation such as whistling or screaming, which are not tolerated;

4.Show disapproval by being quiet;

5.Wait to be dismissed from the assembly by the teacher; and

6.Walk quietly in single file back to the classroom.

Dismissal -Upon dismissal, teachers walk students out of the building and students should:

1.Exit classrooms single file;

2.Wait their turn if other classes are in the hall;

3.Exit from the appropriate door, and

4.Walk directly to the wait spot or home. 

Drills -are held for the safety of students who should:

1.Exit by the nearest door as directed by the teacher;

2.Walk in single file without talking;

3.Keep hands and feet to themselves; and

4.Remain silent outside until a signal is given to return to the building.

Hallway -Teachers accompany students to special classes and pick them up at the conclusion of the class. When in the hallway, students are expected to:

1.Stay in single or double file and keep to the right;

2.Keep hands at sides and off others, walls, windows, and objects; and

3.Do not talk when in line.

Restroom/Water Fountain Break Rules -All restroom and fountain breaks are directed by the teacher.

Toys at School -Toys and games are prohibited. School is not responsible for lost items.

Cell Phones at School –If a child brings a cell phone to school, it must be turned off and kept in the student’s book bag. Any phone that is out during the school day will be collected and returned at the end of the day.
