Preparations under way for All-Night Party
Preparations are under way for the long-standing McClain High School student tradition of the Junior/Senior All-Night Party. The fun starts in the MHS Cafetorium immediately after prom at 11 p.m. Saturday, May 7 and will end at 3 a.m. 
2016 Dragon yearbook can be ordered three ways
Order forms for the McClain annual “Dragon” are available in the high school office.  
New mural painted at McClain

A new piece of artwork was added to McClain High School recently. A large-scale mural painted by sophomore student, Abby Mossbarger, with the assistance of Destiny Ross, Jenny Wilson, Samantha Ross, Molly Rowe and Chantel Landrum, is now pictured on the staircase platform leading to the girls'/visitors' locker room above the new gym.
 

Eddie the Tiger T-shirts are on sale
Eddie the Tiger short-sleeve T-shirts are now available in the McClain High School office for as low as $10. All proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go to the athletic department.

Great Oaks showcases robots at McClain
Jim Wiles, RAMTEC coordinator at Great Oaks, visited McClain High School students Tuesday to talk about the robotics program and to showcase some of the products the program can produce. 
Roosas, McCulloughs donate to MHS
McClain High School recently received a $2,600 donation to use toward the purchase of 65 new copies of the Greenfield Historical Society’s new book, “McClain High School, A Century of Tradition.”

The 2016 Dragons yearbook is on sale for $40.

The sophomore class spirit sale has been extended! Order forms can be picked up in the high school office or printed from the link below. Order forms and money are due to Mrs. Hawvermale by Thursday, February 11.  
Jones builds elaborate lego train in less than a day
Nick Jones, a junior at McClain High School, recently built an elaborate LEGO® train in less than a day’s time for a Cincinnati Museum Center challenge.

Monday, February 8, 2016

  1. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday from 5pm - 8:30 pm and Thursday from 4pm – 7:30 pm. Please see your guidance counselor or go onto www.pickatime.com to schedule conference times. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

  2. In honor of senior night, dress as a senior citizen for tonight’s basketball game against Clinton Massie.

  3. There will be a pep rally Thursday at approximately 1:45 pm. You will be dismissed as the band marches by your classroom.

  4. There will be no school Friday or Monday, February 15, due to a compensatory day and President’s Day.

  5. There will be a College Credit Plus meeting in the cafetorium on Thursday at 6:30 pm. Students, who are planning on taking college classes through Southern State Community College or Ohio University-Chillicothe next year, must attend this meeting with a parent or guardian. Please contact the guidance office for additional information.

  6. Hillsboro High School is offering the ASVAB on Saturday, February 27 at 8:00 am. Any junior or senior wanting to retake the test, should contact the guidance office. The deadline is Wednesday.

  7. Basketball tournament tickets are on sale in the office for $5.00. Please see Mrs. Pitzer.

Boys’ Basketball Game – Monday, February 15, @ 6:15 pm

  1. All male U.S. citizens, who are 18 – 25 years old, are required to register with selective service. Please see Mr. Raike for details.

  2. Sophomore Class dues of $15 must be paid to Mrs. Hawvermale. “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger" t-shirts are on sale. Order forms can be picked up from Mrs. Hawvermale and are due on Thursday.

  3. All junior class candy money is due on Tuesday, February 16.

  4. The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association is hosting the 2016 Veterinary Exploration Conference and College Fair on Saturday, February 27 for interested juniors and seniors. Registration is $5.00. There will, also, be a parent workshop on this day for $10.00. See Ms. Putnam for information or register on-line at http:/mvcinfo.org/students/VEC.html.

  5. The Ohio State University is offering a College Day for students with disabilities on Thursday, April 7. See Ms. Putnam to register. Deadline for registration is Friday, March 18.

  6. Pre-order your 2016 yearbook at the marble stairs during Channel One or in Mrs. Gossett’s room during 7th period for $40.
