McClain Band Donation
Southern Hills Bank recently donated money for a new baritone for the marching band.  
Red Ribbon Week
During the week of October 27 through October 31, the high school and middle school will be participating in Red Ribbon Week. 
Special Olympics
On Saturday, September 20, a group of McClain students participated in the Special Olympics at Hills and Dales.  
Little Miami Band Festival
McClain Marching Band and Tigerettes recently attended a band festival at Little Miami. 
Fall OGT Week
OGT week is quickly approaching and some changes have occurred within the week’s schedule. 
2013/14 Yearbooks Available
The 2014 yearbooks are available for pickup or purchase ($40) in Mrs. Gossett's room (232 old vocational)

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

  1. Friday will be school pink-out day. 

  2. There will be an art club meeting during lunch Thursday.  Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.

  3. Any boy interested in playing basketball should attend a meeting tomorrow immediately after school in the new gym.

  4. The boys swim team will condition in the pool tomorrow and Thursday after school.

  5. Grade cards will be available in homeroom classes on Thursday between 1st and 2nd periods.   

  6. Powder Puff game will be played on Sunday.  Admission is $2.00.  Players, coaches and cheerleaders are to be at the field by 2:30 pm. 

 

  1. Book Club will be meeting in Mrs. Hawvermale’s room during lunch today. Pizza will be provided for $2.00. If you are interested in joining, please see Caleb Helterbrand or Jack Gill.

  2. There will be a brief Spanish Club meeting Thursday after school in room 304.

  3. There will be a blood drive today in the old gym from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Students are not to be dismissed to go to the blood drive until a blood drive representative comes to get them.  Teachers will have a copy of the blood drive schedule.

  4. OGT testing will take place the week of October 27.  Testing will take place 2nd period in the old gym.  Juniors and seniors who have passed the test of the day will not have to be here until fifth period.  The OGT testing schedule is as follows:  Monday – Reading, Tuesday – Math, Wednesday – Writing, Thursday – Science and Friday – Social Studies.

  5. Balfour will be meeting with the seniors immediately after the morning announcements tomorrow in the auditorium to discuss cap/gowns and graduation announcements.

  6. Hi-Y Make a Difference Day permission slips are due to Ms. Poynter no later than Thursday. Please see Ms. Poynter if you need a form or have any questions.

  7. There will be a brief  NHS meeting after school today in room 304.

  8. Seniors interested in information about the Homeland Credit Union Scholarship should see Mr. Raike.

  9. There will be a wrestling meeting after school Thursday.

  10. Seniors will have Powder Puff practice today at 4:30 pm at the practice field.  There will be practice all week except for Thursday.
