The McClain FFA chapter was represented at the State Agricultural Soil Judging contest on October 8th by Ethan Cockerill, Bryn Karnes, Eric Anderson and Emily Jones. This team evaluated the soil through an understanding of basic soil differences to determine suitable soil and water conservation practices and the proper treatments for the soil. Out of the forty five teams that participated, McClain's team placed first. Ethan Cockerill was the high individual in this contest, placing first out of one hundred and sixty two individuals. The team qualifies to move on to the National Land Judging contest in Oklahoma in May of 2017. We are proud of these accomplishments and wish the best of luck to all of the team's members.
