Blended Schedule Request

As part of our Restart/Reset plan, our district would like to be prepared in the event we must move to a blended schedule this school year. At this time we are not intending to move to this model, nor do we foresee this in the near future. However, we would like to be prepared and would like to provide you the opportunity to prepare for this possibility.

Free Breakfast and Lunch for ALL Students

Our district has received wonderful news from The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services.  Beginning tomorrow, Monday, September 14, our school district will be able to serve free lunch to all students attending school physically under Option One regardless of their free/reduced lunch status. The USDA is making the program available until December 31, 2020 or until the funding runs out, whichever comes first.  It is recommended that families still complete the free/reduced meal application so that the service will continue in January 2021 for your child or children if they qualify.  Qualifying applications not only provide cost savings to our families, but they also provide funding and opportunities for our district.  If you have questions regarding this opportunity or meal applications, please contact our Food Service Director, Mrs. Dorothy Balzer.  We are very excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our students.

2020 - 2021 Bus Routes

All students who will ride a bus this school year: 
Click on the article to view the bus routes and time for pick-up/drop-off. Please remember, students temperatures will be taken upon entering the bus and students with a temperature over 100.0 will be sent back to the house. Elementary parents please make sure someone is there for the child should they be sent back to the house.
We are asking to give the bus an additional 5 minutes over the normal 5 minutes for the first couple days of school.

2020 - 2021 Revised Calendar

During the July 20 GEVSD Board of Education meeting, a revised 2020-2021 calendar was approved. Students will now begin school on Monday, August 24, 2020. This change will allow additional time for staff members to have meeting and learning sessions focusing on instruction, technology, and health and safety in preparation for this school year. 2020 Reopening Plan

Please take time to review the full reopening plan for our school district. You will notice that each section includes the roles of EVERYONE involved as this truly needs to be a team effort. At the conclusion of the plan, you will find the information about our online learning option, as well as, the application for parents/guardians to complete if interested in choosing that option. We have already started reviewing survey responses from those who participated in our parent/guardian survey. Your feedback is important! As we work through these difficult and ever-changing times, we know that not everyone will agree with decisions that our made. We greatly appreciate your support, cooperation, and flexibility.

Reset/Restart Parent Survey

Although there have been no definitive guidelines released for the 2020-2021 school year, we are moving forward with planning.  Our goal is to have two to three plans ready to go so that when we receive guidelines, we will be ready to move forward with the appropriate plan.  The questions in the survey will provide us with information that will be helpful for our planning team.  The survey is brief and should only take a few minutes to complete.  It is important to note that the survey will only be open until 11:45PM on Tuesday, June 16.  If you have questions regarding the survey, please contact the secretary or principal at the building your child attends. Click on the article to access the survey.
