Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open today, Monday, April 3, 2023! Please remember, your child(ren) must turn five years old prior to August 1, 2023, in order to be eligible for kindergarten.
Please ensure ALL of the following steps are completed for your child(ren) to be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year:

The fifth-grade students of GES raised $757.00 through their first annual Art For A Cause fundraiser! That is $378.50 per charity. The Highland County Humane Society and the Highland Homeless Shelter will benefit from the artwork created by our students. Thank you to all local businesses and community members for purchasing the artwork!

Completing this application does NOT guarantee placement in our preschool program, but gives us the information we need to approve your application. You will be notified by June 1 of application approval for our preschool program. We are excited to announce the start of our One District, One Book! This year, all elementary buildings (Buckskin, Rainsboro, Greenfield) will be reading Flora & Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo. One child in your family will receive a copy of our book tomorrow, Monday, April 3rd. Along with the book, you will receive a reading schedule. Generally, you will be asked to read for about 15 minutes each night. To kick off the book, we encourage students to wear superhero gear to school this Monday! We are so excited to get started!

Good afternoon from Greenfield Elementary! This is a friendly reminder that we will have a two-hour early dismissal tomorrow, February 17, 2023. Release times are as follows: Preschool- no bus transportation home for am preschool, no pm preschool, kindergarten- 1:35, First Grade- 1:40, Second Grade- 1:45, Third Grade- 1:45, Fourth and Fifth Grade- 1:50. Information from the 3-13-23 6:30PM all-call:
Good evening! On Friday, March 17, there will be a two-hour early release for students marking the end of the third grading period. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 22 and Thursday, March 23. If you have any questions about scheduling a conference, please contact the office of the school where your child attends. School will not be in session on Friday, March 24. The McClain High School Fine Arts Department will present “High School Musical” on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, beginning at 7:30PM each evening. Finally, we are excited to share about our upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for our practice field development project. The ceremony will be held on Monday, March 20 beginning at 6:00PM on the practice field, located at 750 McClain Avenue. McClain FFA hosted its first “Tech with Teens” event in partnership with the Highland County Community Action Organization this afternoon. Students were able to sit down in an individualized setting with seniors who had specific questions with the technology they use in their everyday lives. We are excited to share that Mr. Bill Roller, Greenfield Elementary art teacher and MHS graduate, will have artwork hanging in COSI after having placed in their Exploring Egyptian Art Exhibition contest. His work will hang on the second floor outside the King Tutankhamun exhibit from March 18th through September 4th, 2023. Congratulations to Mr. Roller! 😊

February 27, 2023 - 4:16PM update - The tornado warning has been lifted. The weather has cleared, and our buses are back on the road. Thank you to all for your cooperation!
Important update: Due to the tornado warning for Highland County, our buses are currently stopped in order to maintain safety for our drivers and students. Buses will begin traveling again once the weather is safe to do so. Also, students who attend BASC Care on our main campus are sheltered and safe.
