McClain Alumni Band Reminder:
Our first big alumni rehearsal is tomorrow (Saturday) September 16! We are thrilled to be so close to renewing such an awesome tradition.
The band room will be open at 1:30p.m. for instrument pick-up.
Practice is from 2:00-3:30p.m.

The high school cheerleaders are excited to host another football cheer clinic. They will be teaching several new cheers they learned at their cheer camp.
Forms were sent home with all students before fair break. If you did not receive one, please check with your school office for another copy.
Please turn in the form and money to your school office by this Friday, September 15th! We can’t wait to see all of the cheerleaders!!!

Please see below for a few updates.
1. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during our implementation of the Raptor Visitor Management System. Things have been going very smoothly. Please remember to bring your state I.D. or driver’s license with you to the school office the first time that you are signing your child out or visiting the building. Also, remember that if you have children in multiple buildings, you will need to repeat the process in each building. Again, thank you for your support.
2. The percentage of our students whose documentation is completed in FinalForms is now 93%! Please make sure that if you have not completed the forms, you do so as soon as possible. Make sure to keep your contact information (phone numbers and email addresses) current so that you don’t miss important information that is shared throughout the year.
3. Be sure to complete the free and reduced lunch form as soon as possible. Any form that was approved last school year is only good for this school year through September 30. This year, all students who qualify for a reduced-price lunch receive a free lunch! You can find the form on our website by clicking the dining tab. You will then see it on the left-hand side.
We will be closed next week due to the Highland County Fair. School will resume for students on Monday, September 11.

Lunch Menu Change for Rainsboro:
Tomorrow, 8/31, is National Eat Outside Day. Our PTO suggested that we celebrate this at Rainsboro. We are making adjustments to our menus (Thursday/Friday) so that students can have a bagged lunch and go outside to enjoy their lunch. The weather looks perfect to celebrate this fun idea! See below the menu changes made.
Thursday 8/31: Hot Dog, Baked Beans, carrots & dip, slushy, milk.
Friday9/1: Pizza Crunchers, peas, broccoli & cheese, fruit, milk.
As always, students are welcome to pack their lunches.

Today was one of our favorite days! We welcomed all of our new staff members in the district for orientation. Together we learned, laughed, built new relationships, and toured the main campus. We are so glad to add these new members to our team! 💜💛

Good afternoon! This week on our main campus you will notice police presence while law enforcement officers are conducting drills. We want everyone to be aware that they are only conducting drills, and that nothing is wrong. We appreciate the hard work and support of our local law enforcement as they practice protocols to keep our students and staff members safe.
The First Presbyterian Church will be hosting the annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 12, from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m. This drive-thru event provides an opportunity for students in preschool through twelfth grade to receive a free backpack full of supplies. We appreciate the support of the Presbyterian Church and all of the community organizations who have contributed supplies for the event.
We are excited to welcome our students back soon! Open house for all buildings will be held on Tuesday, August 15. All elementary buildings will hold their open house sessions from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. The Greenfield Middle School open house will be held from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. McClain High School will hold its open house for all grades and freshman orientation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. The first day for students in grades 1-12 will be August 17. Start dates and times for preschool and kindergarten students are staggered and will be communicated to parents and guardians.
Be on the lookout for the McClain Mailer, which will be delivered to all homes in our district within the next couple of weeks. Again, we are excited to welcome back our students and kick off the 2023-2024 school year!
