Our district is now closed today.
Due to the radar-predicted timing for poor weather conditions, our district will begin on a two hour delay this morning, Monday, March 2, 2026. We will continue to monitor the weather over the next couple of hours. Please remember that a delay means that there will be no morning preschool, and breakfast will not be served.
We enjoyed hosting Southern Ohio Educational Service Center Superintendent Curt Bradshaw on our main campus this week. Our team appreciates him taking the time to see the good things happening in the district.☺️

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held across our district on Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19. We value communication with parents and guardians of students in ALL grades. Many times, conference attendance declines after students enter high school. We hope that parents and guardians of high schools students will check out this conference format on March 18.💜💛

We would like to thank our staff members, students, and families for their cooperation today. We appreciate how everyone worked together to make the best of a challenging situation! All students were picked up or dropped off by 4:55 p.m. Also, we would like to thank countless people who showed thoughtfulness and positivity today as well! Our district appreciates you!
A few key points:
1. As has been the practice for many years, it is expected that families have a plan for early dismissals. It is not a practice that we like to utilize, but today we did need to utilize a modified early dismissal. Dismissing on a normal early dismissal schedule today would have been hazardous. Many roads that would not have been safe this morning or in the early afternoon were plowed and treated by dismissal time. Our parents and guardians were AWESOME today, but we thought it might be helpful to at least let others without children in our district know that having a plan for an early dismissal is an expectation that the district has. If a parent can’t pick up their child, our staff members ALWAYS find ways to assist.
2. We are aware that comments have been made on social media about buses wrecking. No buses “wrecked” today. Two buses became stuck in untreated areas, and no one was injured in those situations.
3. No one can predict the weather with complete accuracy all the time. Today and Tuesday of this week are two perfect examples of that. But if there are questions about procedures, we are always happy to answer them. As a district, we will not engage in addressing negative comments on social media as it is unproductive.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped out today! GO TIGERS!!

The only change that we are making at this point is the cancellation of afternoon preschool. In addition, we will not be transporting morning preschoolers home at the regular time. We would prefer that morning preschool parents pick their children up, but if that is not possible, they will not be transported home until the end of the elementary school day. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your cooperation!

Because we will be under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 7:00 a.m., and due to expected heavy snowfall to begin this morning, our district will be closed Tuesday, February 3. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we want to ensure the safety of our students (including student drivers), staff, and families.
Due to the continued weather and road conditions, the Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be closed Friday, January 30, 2026. We miss our students and can’t wait to see them on Monday!
Today, we have a special shoutout for the members of our maintenance, custodial, and transportation teams who are working to make sure that when students and staff return, everything is ready to go. We appreciate their hard work!

Due to the continued weather and road conditions, the Greenfield Exempted Village School District will be closed Thursday, January 29, 2026. As shared previously, rescheduling of extracurricular events will occur as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience. Some might ask - Why not just cancel school on Friday? We carefully monitor the instructional hours that our students complete compared to what is required by the state, and we want to ensure that we don’t have to make up hours unless necessary. Different grade bands require a different number of hours, and currently all grades are tracking okay with our seniors being the only group within a few calamity days of needing to make up any hours. Please know that we will always put safety first, but because we are monitoring hours, we will wait to make any call about Friday sometime tomorrow. Have a good evening!
