It was a GREAT senior night! 😀 In addition to the incredible support of Tiger Nation, those at the game were witness to an outstanding act of sportsmanship. We're giving a Tiger shoutout to Coach Beard and the Cavaliers! They helped to make it a night to remember. 💜💛💙🤍 #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers

Good afternoon. With two additional buildings meeting the established threshold in our guidelines used when determining closures due to illness, we are going to take a pause with all five buildings. The district will be closed tomorrow, February 12, with all five buildings returning to a regular schedule on Thursday, February 13. What can you do to help? 1. Please send healthy students to school. Keeping healthy students at home will only negatively impact their academic and social needs. Please rest assured that if students exhibit symptoms of illness while at school, they are sent home by our school nursing staff. 2. If you are unsure about whether to send your child, please contact the nurse’s clinic on your child’s school campus. They are happy to help. 3. Keep children home from school until they are fever-free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. 4. Support your child in getting plenty of rest, eating healthy, practicing good respiratory etiquette (i.e. covering their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing), and washing their hands or sanitizing when soap and water are unavailable. These decisions are not made lightly, and we recognize that closing school can be a hindrance for our families. We appreciate your support! Again, all five of our school buildings will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12. All five buildings will reopen, on Thursday, February 13. Have a good evening! #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers

We have been monitoring student absences since last week. Four of our buildings have seen improved attendance today without having crossed the established threshold for absences, while one building has not. We try to stay consistent when making decisions about canceling school for illness by using established guidelines because we recognize that school closure can be a hindrance for our families. Due to the number of students absent in addition to the students who went home ill today, Greenfield Middle School will be closed Tuesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 12. Students and staff will return on Thursday, February 13. No middle school practices or events will be held during these two days. To ensure that our other buildings remain in good standing with attendance, please help us by keeping students who are ill at home for an appropriate amount of time to recover. We value good attendance, but not at the cost of causing illness to spread to others. We appreciate your support. Again, Greenfield Middle School ONLY will be closed February 11 and February 12. Have a good evening! #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers

January is School Board Recognition Month! We are excited to recognize and show appreciation for our Board members. The theme for this year is School Board Superheroes. Over the next two weeks, we will be highlighting our School Board Superheroes individually on our social media accounts and app. Each member will be answering questions about their superhero life. Today, we are highlighting Eric Zint. 😀 1. If you were a superhero, what would your name be? Captain Sigma 2. Which superpowers would you possess? The ability to understand Brain Rot, translate it to those who don't understand Brain Rot, and when the time comes, help walk everyone away from using Brain Rot. 3. What is your Kryptonite? Ironically, Brain Rot. 4. Describe your costume! It's straight fire, no cap. Kevin Durant Nerf Gun kicks, Nike Tech on the top and bottom probably in black because it's bus, big chain, fade haircut with a big blob of hair on top that falls down to cover my face. Check out the picture! 5. Describe your secret lair! It slaps. It has an s-tier skibidi gaming setup and a Love Sac to lounge on, Big Mood. 6. What would be your motto or catchphrase? "Hey, you got mad rizz, time to dip." 7. Describe your sidekick! A 6 foot Brain named Folds 8. How would you use your superpowers to make the world a better place? Educate everyone on Brain Rot and as mentioned, help retire it when necessary. Thank you, Eric, for everything you do for our district! 💜💛 #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers

Today, we are highlighting Eric Wise. 😀 1. If you were a superhero, what would your name be? The Wish-Master 2. Which superpowers would you possess? My superpower would be to grant wishes for good. 3. What is your Kryptonite? I would be limited by time, specifically the number of wishes I could grant each day. 4. Describe your costume! My costume would consist of a purple robe with a large gold WM on the chest, a gold eye cover, purple pants, and purple and gold shoes. Check out the picture! 5. Describe your secret lair! It would have neon purple and gold lighting with 50 screens to watch for the desired wishes along with ballgames in action. 6. What would be your motto or catchphrase? "I am the Wish-Master, here to grant your biggest wishes for the greater good." 7. Describe your sidekick! My wife (Miranda) would have the same outfit. Her power would be to keep all of the wishes organized. Goodness knows I would need help! 8. How would you use your superpowers to make the world a better place? I would grant the wishes of those with a good heart asking for the betterment of others. The dream would be for a world with people who desire to treat others as they want to be treated. Thank you, Eric, for everything you do for our district! 💜💛 #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers

After careful consideration of the cold temperatures forecasted for tomorrow, our district will be closed Tuesday, January 21, 2025. One of the primary factors considered is the number of students, along with their parents and guardians, who walk to school. Other districts in our area may not have any, or very few, students who have to walk to school. Each district must consider many factors when making decisions regarding delays and closings. A decision regarding the schedule for Wednesday, January 22, will be communicated tomorrow afternoon. How do snow days work? Technically, our expectation for attendance from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is not based on days. Instead, it is based on hours. Districts can still choose to implement policies in which, for example, students make up days missed after having a specified number of calamity days. The length of our district’s school day allows for a “buffer”, keeping us from having to make up days missed for a specified period of time. The number of hours required for students varies based on their grade level band. The hours we are not in session are monitored, and should we get to the point where we will be making up hours missed, we will communicate that information in advance. Have a good evening! #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers
