Information from the April 5, 2024 4:00 p.m. all-call:
Good afternoon! This is just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, April 8 due to the solar eclipse. Have a nice weekend!

Information from the April 2, 2024 10:15 a.m. all-call:
Good morning! Our district will be dismissing two hours early today, April 2, 2024. Morning preschool students will ride the bus home on the elementary route, which will begin at approximately 1:30. There will be no afternoon preschool.
If a parent or guardian chooses to sign their child out early from school, it will be excused.
We were happy to welcome our students back after spring break and provide breakfast and lunch to them. 😊 To ensure a safe trip home though, we are dismissing early. Based on the radar, we expect this will provide a good window of opportunity for safe travel. Note that if the weather is unsafe for travel, we will hold students who walk and ride a bus in our care. Should that need to occur, we will communicate the information to parents and guardians.
Please make sure that you plan for your child to arrive home early today. Also, please be aware that it may be difficult to reach us by phone as early dismissals are always busy. Stay safe, everyone!

Practice field project days #225-246 - Be sure to follow the updates on our social media accounts, website, and app!
If you have been by the site over the past week or so, you may have noticed movement of steel and welding work being completed. Following the warranty inspection, Surgent Construction and our engineer of record established a plan for completing the adjustments to anchor bolt placement that needed to be made in order to meet Surgent's guidelines to warranty the building. In a past post, it was shared that Surgent has different steel erection tolerances than the subcontractor that was originally on the job.
What is in today's pictures?
➡️ In the areas where the placement of anchor bolts need to be adjusted, the steel plates (created by Surgent) can be placed over the existing bolts while allowing the opportunity to place the bolts required for the steel tolerances needed.
➡️ The construction fence has been adjusted to surround the current construction area only excluding the entry way off of Seventh Street where bollards with a removable cable will be placed.
➡️ Welding, described above, continued on the site today.
➡️ Today, our contractor hosted a meeting in which all of the subcontractors coordinated on the work to be completed and established a timeline for completion. It was a very interesting process in which subcontractors placed sticky notes on a weekly schedule detailing the number of crew members that will be on the job, what they need to have completed to perform their tasks, and then what their tasks would be. It was an exciting day. 😀
Finally, as shared previously, what may not look like a lot of work happening HAS BEEN a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Construction takes patience as delays and issues are inevitable. We are happy to share that steel is scheduled to start going up next week and will continue through completion. 🎉
We welcome questions and will continue to keep you updated. 😊

Last week, some of our McClain High School students were able to participate in the first ever Highland County Manufacturing Day. They were able to tour local manufacturing facilities and learn about internships and career opportunities.
