Practice field project days #128-131 - Be sure to follow the updates on our social media accounts, website, and app! The building has arrived! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ Currently the team that is erecting the building is working to sort and organize the pieces so that they are ready to start on Monday, October 9. We are proud and excited that two of our own, Josh Hyer and Gary Ryan, are on the team. πŸ’œπŸ’› ⚠️The slab for the section of the building that will be erected first will be poured TOMORROW, October 4. As we shared previously, this is a task that has to begin early in the morning as the process has to be completed in one day. Equipment will move in around 5:00 a.m., and work will begin around 6:00 a.m. The second slab pour is TENTATIVELY scheduled for October 12. Our contractor has strived to keep early morning and late evening work to a minimum and will continue to do so as much as possible. We welcome questions and will continue to keep you updated. 😊 #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers #GEVSDprojectprogress

Veterans Day
Information from the 10-1-23 5:20 p.m. all-call: Good evening. This is Quincey Gray, Superintendent of Greenfield Schools calling with important information regarding some changes to a few of our bus routes this week. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, but it is necessary to make these changes due to the drivers we have available. Fortunately, making these changes allows us to transport all students to school. Special thanks to our transportation department team for working today to make these arrangements. This information will also be shared on our Facebook pages and emailed to parents and guardians via FinalForms. These changes are for this week only, and may not be needed at the end of the week. Drivers will communicate if routes return to normal before the end of the week. 1. Bus 18 (the bus that Tosha will be driving instead of Bus 3) will be picking students up approximately 5-10 minutes early on the middle school/high school route. 2. Bus 17 (Dawn’s bus) will be picking students up approximately 5-10 minutes early on the middle school/high school route. 3. Bus 17 (Dawn’s bus) will be picking students up approximately 5 minutes early on the elementary route. 4. Middle school and high school students who live on Blazer Road and Black Lane will be picked up by Bus 9 (Angie’s bus) approximately 25 minutes later tomorrow, closer to 7:00 a.m. 5. Middle school and high school students who reside in New Petersburg on Petersburg Pike and Water Street will be picked up by Bus 19 (Susan’s bus) at approximately 7:00 a.m. 6. Middle school and high school students who reside on Petersburg Pike west of Worley Mill Road and Allen Road will be picked up close to the normal time by Bus 20 (Randalia’s bus). 7. Middle school and high school students who reside on Route 138 heading toward Hillsboro will be picked up by Bus 11 (Jackie’s bus) 5-10 minutes early. 8. All Rainsboro Elementary students who ride a bus need to be ready for pick-up 5-10 minutes early. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, but we are thankful for our team members working together in order to transport all students this week. If you have any questions, please contact the GEVSD bus garage tomorrow at 937-981-2620 during regular hours. Have a good evening!

Practice field project days #125-127 - Be sure to follow the updates on our social media accounts, website, and app! Big news!!! πŸ“’ The building is now being delivered TOMORROW AND THE FOLLOWING DAY! What do we mean by the building is being "delivered"? πŸ€” The steel framed building was designed by our architect based on the input provided by multiple team members over planning sessions that occurred during many months. Members of our athletic department, maintenance department, transportation department, central office, and the GEVSD Board contributed ideas to meet the needs of all who will be utilizing the multipurpose building for many years to come. The building consists of three sections, which the construction crew refers to as "building one", "building two", and "building three". The section titled "building one" is the side closest to Seventh Street. Once the complete building is erected, there will be a brick facade along the outside portion matching the "McClain brick" found on the main campus. ⚠️ A tentative schedule with important information is below: ➑️ Building delivery will take 2 days with five semi trucks coming each day. ➑️ The building segments will be placed in the fenced construction area where eventually the parking lot behind the building will be located. ➑️ For the safety of residents, the one-block section of Eighth Street along the practice field area will be closed to the public for approximately two months due to heavy traffic disruptions stemming from construction deliveries and the building erection. Again, this only applies to the one-block section along the practice field area. The closure will take effect on Friday, September 29. ➑️ The slab for "building three" will be poured sometime next week. This is a task that has to begin early in the morning as the process has to be completed in one day. On the day of the pour, equipment will move in around 5:00 a.m., and work will begin around 6:00 a.m. As mentioned in the previous post, there will be a few times during the project when work will have to be completed outside of the normal work hours simply because of the nature of the task. Our contractor has strived to keep those situations to a minimum and will continue to do so as much as possible. ➑️ The actual erection of the building is scheduled to start the week of October 9. Also, during that week, we are tentatively planning for the fields and parking spaces to be turned over to the district. Please note that this is TENTATIVE as there are many factors that play into that process. πŸ“Έ We will be sure to post some building delivery pictures over the next few days. We welcome questions and will continue to keep you updated. 😊 #legacyofleadership #mcclaintigers #GEVSDprojectprogress
