We are just 3 days away from celebrating Edward Lee McClain Day and the Centennial of the Greenfield Middle School and the Old Vocational Building, which includes the natatorium. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. on July 20 in the MHS cafetorium. A recent tour guest asked if classes are still held upstairs in the Old Vocational Building. The answer is yes. 😊 Classes are still held in all of the classrooms on the second floor. The hallway houses our entire high school math department. Check out the pictures below along with a picture of a typewriting and shorthand class. The second floor has not changed much other than upgrades needed to meet educational needs today. Some of you may remember that a couple of years ago, the path to the sundial in front of Greenfield Middle School received some TLC. 💜💛 Last week, the sundial and the stone podium on which it is located received some as well. We are excited to welcome Jama McCune to our team! She will be working as a paraprofessional at Rainsboro Elementary. 😊 ➡️ Jama graduated from McClain High School in 2000. She attended SSCC and is currently enrolled at WGU and will begin taking classes in August. ➡️ Some fun facts about Jama include: She has four children, two of whom are currently in college. Jama also has two Corgis. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and being outdoors in general. Her favorite places to visit are the Gulf of Mexico and the desert. ➡️ Jama is looking forward to being back at Rainsboro Elementary. She will be working as an intervention specialist at Greenfield Middle School. 😊 ➡️ Tara graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012. ➡️ A fun fact about Tara is that she only found out after interviewing for the job that her grandpa attended school in our district! She was not aware of the connection until after she visited for the first time. ➡️ Tara is most excited about being a part of the Tiger community in Greenfield. She has always heard wonderful things about the district, and she is anxious to be a part of a community with such a high and positive reputation. We are excited to welcome Lora Brooks to our team! She will be working as a paraprofessional at Greenfield Middle School. 😊 ➡️ Lora was a member of the McClain High School Class of 1967. She attended Urbana College, SSCC, real estate school, basic leadership school, and HVAC school. ➡️ Some fun facts about Lora include: She previously owned horses and belonged to a riding club. Also, she rode motorcycles with her husband. During her time in the Army, she received the Army Achievement Medal and the Soldier of the Month Award at Fort Bragg. Lora likes painting pictures, and she has three dogs and three cats. ➡️ Lora is looking forward to giving back to the beautiful school district that gave her so many memories. She will be working as a secretary at McClain High School. 😊 ➡️ Ciera graduated from McClain High School in 2007. ➡️ A fun fact about Ciera is that she spends a lot of time shuffling her kids to their sporting events, and she loves every second of it! She is serving as a cheer coach for the Tiger Youth Football Organization this year. ➡️ Ciera is looking forward to learning new things in the office and building new friendships with her coworkers.
